In this case it will be enough to create a shared folder with auto- mounting, and have installed the VirtualBox Guest Additions.
To do this, if you use Windows as Guest (in the VM), there are no problems. We will now mount the VirtualBox Guest Additions.If you are using VirtualBox frequently, you will have found yourself in the situation of having to move files from the Host machine (the main system) to the Guest machine (the emulated system). Select Devices, CD/DVD Devices, VBoxGuestAdditions.iso. Start your guest machine and login as normal. This will mean the guest operating system will not be able to modify any files or directories on within the shared folder. I would suggest selecting the Read-only checkbox.Give the share a simple, but descriptive name.
In my case I will be choosing the directory c:\users\ben\downloads. In the popup dialog, select the directory you want to share with the guest machine.In the Settings dialog, press Shared Folders tab.Within VirtualBox, select the guest machine you wish to contain the shared folder. In this example I will be creating a shared folder within VirtualBox that will link my c:\users\ben\downloads directory with one on the Linux box. So that way I do not need to type out long, sometimes cryptic URLs for software downloads packages I might want to install onto my guest systems.
