Thinking that a new driver from Intel might solve the problem - i downloaded and installed the latest, dated 8/12/15. My computer is upgraded from windows 8.1 but is now Windows 10. Oddly though, that message (appearing for a couple seconds and vanishing) always says it is a Windows 8 driver that has crashed. I might not have noticed if not for the helpful message from Windows 10 letting me know that the driver crashed. The display driver appears to hiccup, pause for perhaps a second or so, then recover and continue as if nothing had happened. I've updated to Windows 10 and have been getting intermittent display driver crashes.
